This policy explains which photos you can use on StarTurn, what isn’t allowed, how we enforce it and how to report a video. It is part of our Terms of Service.
1. Who can be in your photos
You can upload photos of:
- Yourself
- Other adults who agreed to be in the video. Ask your friend before you use their photo.
- Your own pets, in photos with no people in them
Everyone in your photos must be 18 or older. A person photo shows one person only, and a template takes up to 4 photos.
2. What isn’t allowed
Who can’t be in your photos
- Anyone under 18, or anyone who looks under 18
- Celebrities and other public figures, such as actors, musicians, athletes, politicians and well-known creators
- Anyone who didn’t agree to be in the video
What can’t be in your photos or videos
- Nudity or sexual content
- Violence or gore
- Hateful content that attacks people for who they are
- Content that harasses, bullies or threatens anyone
- Copyrighted characters, or any image you don’t have the right to use
What you can’t do with a video
- Impersonate someone
- Deceive people, for example by passing a video off as real footage, as fake evidence or in a scam
- Make it look like the trend’s original creator, a celebrity or anyone else made or endorses the video
3. Your confirmation before every video
Before every video, you tick a box next to one of these statements:
- “Everyone in these photos is 18 or older and agreed to be in this video.”
- “This photo is of my own pet, with no people in it.” (for templates that use only pet photos)
Only tick the box if the statement is true. We keep a record of each confirmation.
4. How we enforce this policy
- Photo checks. Sightengine, our photo check provider, checks every photo automatically for faces, apparent age, and nudity or sexual content. We refuse a person photo with no face or more than one face, a pet photo with a person in it, a photo of someone who looks under 18 or whose age can’t be judged, and a photo that fails the content check. Refused photos are deleted right away.
- The AI model’s safety filter. The model that makes the video has its own safety filter and can turn a video down. If it does, your credits come back automatically.
- Reports. Anyone can report a video, with or without an account (section 6).
- Account action. If you break this policy, we may delete your videos and suspend or close your account. A suspended account can’t log in.
Automatic checks can miss things. They don’t replace your own confirmation.
5. Sharing your videos
Videos are made by AI. When you post one, follow the platform’s rules for AI-generated content. TikTok, for example, asks creators to label realistic AI-generated content.
Videos have no sound and never include the trend’s song. If you add a sound when you post, follow the platform’s rules for it.
StarTurn is not affiliated with TikTok or with the trend’s original creators, so don’t present a video as their work.
6. How to report a video
If a video made on StarTurn shows you, your child or your pet without your consent, or breaks this policy in another way, tell us with the removal request form. You don’t need an account. We reply within 48 hours.
When we accept a request, we delete the video and its cover image from StarTurn. We can’t remove copies posted on other sites, so report those to the site where you saw them as well.
